About This Workshop

This workshop presents cutting edge research on the integration of the most commonly used evidence-based practice of cognitive behavior therapy with effective multicultural practice. The workshop will include a description of the advantages and potential limitations of CBT cross-culturally, with limitations considered as opportunities to rethink and refine the relevance and effectiveness of psychotherapy. Ten strategies will be described for making CBT more culturally responsive including when and how to use cognitive restructuring with people of diverse identities.
