We acknowledge that good health happens when needs are addressed from an emotional, physical and social perspective.  We support you in seeking and maintaining BALANCE from each of these areas of your life.  In our efforts to strengthen your sense of community, thus reducing the individual experience of isolation, we partner with Bellingham Athletic Club (BAC) and Village Books of Old Fairhaven, thereby explicitly reinforcing our belief that all of the aspects of your life play a part in your emotional well-being.

Exploring Life Through Literature

Exploring Life Through Literature was a workshop series that Mary Ann Boyle developed and was sponsored by Village Books of Old Fairhaven.  For several years she facilitated a rewarding and inspiring discussion of literature and life.  During this on-going series, individuals gathered as community sharing their thoughts and experiences as awakened by the author’s story.  At this time, ELTL is not meeting, but Mary Ann is taking this opportunity to share with you books that have been helpful to others and the topics that have arisen from our discussion groups.  We hope that this resource list may be helpful and inspiring to both individuals and book groups. Most of the titles listed are literary pieces.  They are not “self-help”.  However, we hope that you do find them helpful as you recognize yourself between the pages and can normalize your own experience of life through literature.  Enjoy the stories told.
